OB Golf Invitational Tidbits

While Indonesia’s Rory managed to climb to the top of the leaderboard during the second round, it was American Troix Tonkham who stole the show that day. The 24-year-old produced an ace on the 4th hole using his seven-iron from 156 yards. “This is my first hole-in-one in a golf tournament, but I’ve made four aces in total,” said Tonkham. Finishing with a total of 2-under, he made the cut which was set at 3-over.

Masaru Takahashi of Japan engraved the lowest score for a round at the four-day event. The 32-year-old signed for 65 on a flawless, bogey-free final round scorecard, highlighted with seven birdies. Takahashi jumped into T3 on the leaderboard with a four-day total of 12-under, 276, at the US$65,000 Asian Development Tour event.

Amateur Naraajiee E.R. Putra holds the record as the Indonesian player to claim the most Lowest Amateur titles at ADT events in Indonesia. In the 2019 OB Golf Invitational, the 19-year-old national athlete not only won the trophy for the lowest amateur but also engraved his fifth lowest amateur title in ADT events, making it his sixth lowest amateur title overall when coupled with the Indonesian Masters 2017.
