Combiphar Presents the 2nd Players Championship
In partnership with the Asian Development Tour (ADT), Combiphar, Indonesia’s leading consumer healthcare company, will hold the second edition of The Players Championship on the ADT Schedule. The 1st edition was won by Thailand’s Itthipat Buranatanyarat in Singapore last January.
The Combiphar Players Championship will be played at New Kuta Golf Club, Bali, from October 11 to 14. The US$100,000 event is the 13th leg of the Asian Development Tour and its second stop in Indonesia. In addition to the main tournament, a one-day Pro-Am will mark the opening of this prestigious event. Hosting this tournament is a part of Combiphar’s commitment to supporting golf’s development in Indonesia.
“We are delighted to present the Combiphar Players Championship as our support of the development of Indonesian golf. We believe this event will offer a strong platform for aspiring professionals to excel in the game, especially with the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points on offer,” said Michael Wanandi, CEO of Combiphar. “We hope the leading players from Indonesia will take advantage of this opportunity to continue pushing the growth of golf in the country and have a chance to participate in the 2020 Olympics.”
Jimmy Masrin, the Chairman of Asian Tour, appreciates Combiphar’s commitment and the benefit it provides Indonesian players.
“I am very happy and proud every time the ADT is present in Indonesia because the international players can play here. The event can support the development of golf in Indonesia," said Jimmy Masrin. “Combiphar Players Championship is included in the top five in terms of prize money. This means top ADT players will come to play.”
The General Manager of New Kuta Golf Club, Bagus W. Kurniadji, said that the course is ready to welcome all players. “New Kuta will be a tough challenge to all participants. The green speed will be at 10-12, and the wind becomes a major challenge other than the challenge of the course itself,” he explained.
The Combiphar Players Championship will be attended by 144 players with a total of 50 being local players from the PGA Tour of Indonesia Order of Merit list and sponsor exemptions.
