Samsung Galaxy S7, All-New Features

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is the new flagship smartphone for the brand in 2016, following on from last year’s Samsung Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S7 may have a cheaper price than its predecessor, but the 5.1-inch smartphone maintains a similar look.

When it comes to performance, the South Korean tech-giant certainly have their own list of premises to fulfill before announcing a phone as their new flagship. Here’s what the Galaxy S7 brings to the table, which you can’t find in other Samsung phones:

IP68 Certification

After a two-year wait, the Galaxy S series finally has its eagerly anticipated dust and water-resistant device. The Galaxy S7 is capable of surviving a depth of up to 1.5 meters underwater for up to 30 minutes. The micro-USB port is designed to automatically detect when a smartphone falls into the water and short-circuits are prevented. This feature is only intended as a safeguard and the phone shouldn’t be operated in the water.

Dual Pixel Camera Sensor

The Galaxy S7 sports a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera with f/1.7 aperture, as well as OIS, dual-LED flash, and 2160p@30fps video record features. There are also quick launch and focus and shutter time speed features, including slow-motion and time-lapse imaging in order to deliver a high-quality images. Some of these features are on par with those offered in Canon and Nikon SLR cameras.

Always-On Display

This feature displays information on the phone such as notification messages, the time and date, calendar, and other information that can be customized through the settings menu. The feature only uses a very small amount of power so that it doesn’t drain the battery life.

Fingerprint sensor

Fingerprint scanners are becoming a favorite biometric security feature these days. This feature is embedded within the Galaxy S7’s home button. You can store up to four different fingerprints, which will then unlock the phone when used.

Next Level Service

Samsung Indonesia provides “Samsung Priority” program for every Galaxy S7 & Galaxy S7 edge user. This program will prioritize Galaxy S7 & Galaxy S7 edge users to access after-sales service in less than 24 hours. In the worst-case scenario, for example when your phone won’t even turn on, Samsung will lend customers a new device whilst their own is being fixed.
