First National Meeting
Companies engaged in plantation businesses held a national golf tournament aimed at establishing communication between companies and plantation partners.
Perkumpulan Golf Mitra Perkebunan (PGMP, Plantation Partner Golf Association) held its first national tournament on June 30th at Klub Golf Bogor Raya. The tournament was attended by almost 100 golfers that consisted of regional plantation companies from throughout Indonesia and their partners.
“As you know, plantations are one of the strategic sectors in Indonesia. We often talk about discussing efforts to advance the plantation business in Indonesia,” Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, President Director of PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) X. “Therefore, this tournament is used to build communication between us that can provide benefits for the company, while also establishing friendship and hobbies in golf.”
PGMP was established in 2002 in East Java with other regions joining from then onwards. Each PGMP region holds its own golf activities every year but this is the first year that a national tournament has been held by the PGMP.
To add to the purpose of the first national meeting the tournament collected funds for scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to students from disadvantaged families.
"We are grateful that, through the scholarship program, this tournament can provide benefits for those in need. In subsequent tournaments, we can provide more benefits to the community," Dwi added.
