A Must-Play Course Outside the City
Opened in 2005, Chiang Mai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort features a magnificent 27-hole championship golf course. Located in the foothills east of Chiang Mai, the course provides tranquility, high elevation, a cool climate, fresh air, pure water, and fertile soil, with the additional pleasure of magnificent mountain views on every hole. Even before arriving at Highlands, you will be fascinated by the exceptionally beautiful landscape en-route, passing rice fields and plantations that run away into the mountains.
Chiang Mai Highlands was designed by Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design from the USA. Schmidt-Curley Design is the team responsible for Mission Hills, Amata Spring, Siam CC, amongst other top golf courses in Asia.
The par-72 and par-36 courses are integrated harmoniously into the landscape with challenging designs. Peppered with around 130 bunkers, that are deep and demanding, and the large and undulating greens, the course pushes players of any level to position their ball carefully. Players are rewarded for their efforts with striking views of the surrounding mountains from every hole.
In addition to the course, Chiang Mai Highlands also offers a small on-site Thai resort with private cottages for those wanting to stay in the countryside and play multiple rounds of golf.
Within just a few years, Chiangmai Highlands has established its name on the international golf map as one of the best golf experiences in Asia. The course has won several prestigious awards. In 2007 Asian Golf Monthly voted Chiang Mai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort as #3 for "Best New Golf Course in Asia". In 2013, Chiang Mai Highlands was awarded the title of "Best Value for Money Golf Course in Asia” by the same publication. The course was also selected as one of the three “Best Golf Resorts in Asia” in 2015.
Chiang Mai Highlands offers one of the best golf experiences in Thailand and is a must-play course while you’re visiting Chiang Mai.
