A Hideaway Course in the Beautiful Mountains

Gunung Geulis Golf Resort boasts 36 holes divided into two courses, the West and East Course. Having just re-opened to the public in December after a two and half year re-design and renovation, the East course is the one which is attracting golfers’ attention.

Gunung Geulis Golf Resort opened in 1994 and is located in the Bogor area of West Java, just 45 minutes off Jagorawi Highway and about 50 kilometers from the center of Jakarta. The sprawling 450 hectares of mountain terrain blend naturally with the golf complex which offers scenic views and fresh mountain air. Gunung Geulis, which means beautiful mountain in Indonesian, is located at an elevation of 400 to 500 meters above sea level affording players here fresh and cool mountain air.

Designed by Thomson, Wolveridge, and Perret, the East course measures 6,065 meters, slightly shorter than the West Course. Although shorter than the West, the East Course has tighter, sloping fairways, and hazards which offer a more challenging round of golf. While enjoying a game, players are treated to breathtaking natural landscapes amid the misty slopes of the Bogor Mountains.

The first nine, entitled the Valley Course, is undulating, following the contour of the hills. The back nine, the Hill Course, is gentler with wider fairways. The course adopts elements of the distinctive British links style with up and down fairways and a considerable amount of movement and carefully placed bunkers.

All the greens are well kept - no unfair breaks here!  And with four tees on every hole, Gunung Geulis East Course aims to please every skill level of golfer. Located far away from the crowds, yet only a short drive, Gunung Geulis offers a perfect place to escape from the hectic city rush of Jakarta.
